Things Will Be Different + intro

Things Will Be Different documents the impacts of forced relocation on two families living at the Walker Street Public Housing Estate, in Northcote, Melbourne. Will is a 50 year old housing activist, and Najat is a single migrant mother with 4 children under 12. The film follows the two families as Will attempts to support Najat to remain close to her community.

Things Will Be Different shows the richness of the people, communities and support that can exist within public housing. It documents how life altering circumstances can be thrust upon anybody and how public housing is essential to ensure that people in difficult circumstances can access safe and meaningful lives.

This session will be introduced by the director, Lucie McMahon.
