In May, the month of Agnès’ birthday, we celebrate some of the incredible body of work of a true pioneer of cinema and genuine artist.
Varda’s work was central to the development of the widely influential French New Wave film movement of the 1950s and 1960s and her films focused on achieving documentary realism, addressing women’s issues, and other social commentary with a distinctive experimental style.
Agnès kept working and creating right up until her death in 2019, aged 90.
