Disco Confessions + Q&A

One of the most important and most unsung DJ/producers of the last 50 years – disco legend John Morales gets his story told in a rare screening of this film, Disco Confessions with a Q+A with John & hosted by Mike Gurrieri (PBS – Mystic Brew) joined on the panel by Bionic Boogie’s Eddie Mac & Cam Run.

Morales was the producer behind a slew of hit remixes and was one of a tiny, minutely small group of influential figures who invented the concept of the remix and became an architect of the deep, soulful disco sound that formed the core of the genre’s most enduring and influential records.
Taking us back to the bodegas, basketball courts and Bronx clubs of his youth, as well as his current home studio and behind the decks on tour, Morales unpacks his enduring passion for music and the highs and lows of a six decade career, while revealing more private musings in some very candid direct-to-camera dialogue.

The film features some of the powerhouse colleagues of John Morales, including Jocelyn Brown, Louie Vega, Danny Krivit, DJ Spinna, DJ Spen, Kenny Dope, Joey Negro, Todd Terry, Terry Hunter and more.
