Into Your Light

The Fandangoe Kid has danced every morning as a ritual for survival, following the death of almost her entire family in an accident in NYC’s East River in 2011. Together with director Tara Darby, the duo look at the unifying power of movement across the world as a release for pain and a means of finding momentary joy amidst agonising grief. Shot in London and NYC, the piece documents the artist’s ongoing quest to navigate traumatic loss through ritual and ceremony, as she recounts her family tragedy.
