An unstoppable force whose long career lasted right up until her passing this year at age 90. Her films delight in reflecting her inquisitive desire to uncover “beauty where it’s maybe not”. A revolutionary, a feminist and a pioneer she forged a new film aesthetic which would have a major influence on cinema and certified her title as the ‘godmother’ of French New Wave.
