Casablanca

A phenomenal movie, that everyone needs to have seen. ” Charlotte Harrison

Here’s looking at you, kid! An undisputed masterpiece and perhaps Hollywood’s quintessential statement on love and romance, Casablanca’s only improved with age, boasting career-defining performances from Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman.

In the midst of German occupation there’s only one place in Casablanca you can go to have a drink and meet the shady characters who will help you escape to neutral countries: Rick’s Café Américain. When Ilsa (Bergman) shows up with her husband Victor (Paul Henreid) it puts her ex-boyfriend Rick (Humphrey Bogart) in a bind. Their relationship and parting remain a source of pain for him, and now he’s in a position to seek revenge, but for all his affected cynicism he seems to remain a virtuous man. One of the finest films from Hollywood’s Golden Age.
