Join photographer and cultural archaeologist Sean Reynolds for the launch of his new book Melbourne Ghost Signs! Sit back and relax as Sean takes us on a journey through Melbourne’s fascinating and quirky history, sharing the most remarkable human stories behind the ghostly signs and faded logos of Melbourne’s past.

From the gold-rush years to the Swinging Sixties, from Robur Tea to Tarax soft drinks, this city can never settle. In a process of continual renewal, old buildings are incorporated into new, both uncovering and obscuring snippets of history. Ghost signs provide hints to our common heritage, ready to be picked up by the keen eye and quick shutter.

Grab a drink, get your book signed and chat with the author at 5:00 pm in the foyer, then at 5:30 head into the theatre for Sean’s 20-minute audiovisual presentation. Drinks and signings run afterwards until 7 pm.
