A heart-filling portrait of a generation of young Indigenous leaders.. ” MIFF 2024
Join Clothing The Gaps for a special screening of the acclaimed documentary, VOICE, to mark twelve months since the 2023 Referendum.
VOICE is a powerful, inspirational and emotional film about a grassroots Indigenous youth-led organisation called DIYDG (Deadly Inspiring Youth Doing Good ) and their journey to the town of Kalkaringi, for the annual Gurindji Freedom Day Festival which commemorates the Gurindji stockmen’s strike, led by Vincent Lingiari and others and the subsequent walk off from Wave Hill Station.
The DIYDG journey marks the beginning of a collectivist fight of their own; to have a “Yes” vote for a constitutionally enshrined Indigenous Voice to Parliament.
The film is directed by Krunal Padhiar and co-directed by Indigenous not for profit leader, Semara Jose.
All ticket proceeds support DIYDG and furthering the reach and impact of VOICE.
