Entertainment is a 2015 American drama film directed by Rick Alverson, starring Gregg Turkington, Tye Sheridan, and John C. Reilly. It is loosely based on Turkington’s Neil Hamburger character. The plot follows a stand-up comedian as he performs in various locations where the audience is either hostile or indifferent to him. Alverson, Turkington and Tim Heidecker co-wrote the film.

Gregg Turkington is a comedian/actor/writer based in Los Angeles. He is best known for his stand-up comic character Neil Hamburger, chronicled in the 2015 film Entertainment, and for his portrayal of a nitwitted, passive-agressive film critic on the long-running On Cinema At The Cinema series. Other film roles include Fremont, Ant-Man, The Comedy, and the upcoming Christmas Eve In Miller’s Point, which premiered at Cannes in May 2024. TV credits include What We Do In The Shadows, Gravity Falls, and CSI. Recently he wrote and recorded the musical concept album Seasonal Depression Suite with Erik Paparozzi, featuring guest vocalists Neil Finn, Annabella Lwin, Puddles Pity Party, and Will Oldham.
