TPH is proud to host a special screening of ‘In My Blood It Runs’ to raise funds for the charity, Books ‘n’ Boots’. on Tuesday, March 16th at 6pm.

Many First Nations kids in isolated communities do not have equitable access to books for reading, and this is vital to addressing the literacy gap.
Books ‘n’ Books is an Indigenous-led, Naarm/Melbourne-based, grassroots not for profit, that collects pre-loved children’s books, stores & packs these, and then distributes them to First Nations kids in rural and remote communities across Australia. Feel free to bring in your pre-loved books to this screening!

All funds raised from the screening will go toward costs for transport/freight of books currently in storage as well as packing materials. For more information please visit the website

SYNOPSIS:

Ten-year-old Dujuan is a child-healer, a good hunter and speaks three languages. As he shares his wisdom of history and the complex world around him we see his spark and intelligence. Yet Dujuan is ‘failing’ in school and facing increasing scrutiny from welfare and the police.

IN MY BLOOD IT RUNS is an intimate and compassionate observational documentary from the perspective of a 10-year-old Aboriginal boy in Alice Springs, Australia, struggling to balance his traditional Arrernte/Garrwa upbringing with a state education.
